This little filly came to the rescue at only a few days old. She is a PMU foal (her mother was one of the mares used to create Premarin, an awful drug that uses pregnant mare's urine and therefor has no need for the foals). She was one of the few lucky ones to be picked up at auction before a slaughterhouse bought her. She was very skinny and weak but is coming around nicely. She will need to be given milk, we suggest using a bucket for ease and to not encourage mouthyness. She is an absolute goofball now that she's starting to feel better. Loves getting into everything. The vet said she was an absolute pleasure to work with, just so eager for attention and so curious that she didn't mind the vaccinations, deworming, or checkup. She seems to have a bit of energy but for the most part she just seems to enjoy being around people. We have recently found that she enjoys holding things in her mouth and the other day she walked around with a hoof pick for quite a while! She seems to love making people laugh! She is not trained at all but accepts a halter and is eager to please and should not be too difficult to train.
The vet said she has no major health issues but since she is so big, she may need a lot of time to fully mature! It's recommended to make sure her knees are fully fused rather than just breaking her at two years of age. In the meantime, she should be fun to teach tricks to or just enjoy.
Other info: We do not know her breeds but we believe she is Percheron/Thoroughbred cross. She is a Seal Bay Sabino with half a badger face. She is huge already at just a few weeks old so we imagine she will be somewhere around 17-18 hands high and big boned.
